Purpose and scope
This accessibility statement applies to content displayed on www.netherdenton.com, all of the associated pages and the drive folder.
This website is run and designed by members and staff of Nether Denton Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
For example, that means you should be able to:
· navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
· navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
· listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
· Understand what most hyperlinks will do, even if using a screenreader to navigate
· Receive a text description of any important images within the site when using a screenreader
· Zoom up to 300% on most pages without text spilling off the screen
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible is the website?
Accessibility features:
· All informational images include a text description
· All pages have a valid HTML
· The website offers full functionality in modern browsers on PC, Mac, Tablets and Smartphones.
We understand that some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
· the text will not reflow in a single column when you change the size of the browser window
· you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
· older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen reader software
· Whilst online forms can be navigated using just a keyboard, screen readers may not identify and read contextual text boxes for some questions
· you cannot skip to the main content when using a screen reader
